I had a lovely stay at The Manila Hotel, appreciating the historic charm and Filipino culture it exudes. The room was spacious and offered a fantastic view, though I noticed some areas in need of updates. Service was mostly great, but I encountered a few hiccups during check-in. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and will consider coming back.

Rooms

The room was spacious with a very nice sunset view, but the decor felt a bit outdated, particularly the bathroom fixtures.
Service

For the most part, the staff were courteous and helpful, although check-in was slow and I dealt with some confusion regarding room key cards.

I found the dining experience at Cafe Ilang Ilang to be fair, with a good variety but some food not living up to expectations.
Facilities

Facilities were decent, but the pool area was a bit clunky when it came to ordering and payment.

My stay at The Manila Hotel was quite disappointing, especially given its reputation. While the historical charm of the hotel was evident, the service I received was far below expectations. I faced numerous issues, particularly with my room's air conditioning and amenities, which made for a stressful experience. 😓 Overall, I was left wanting more, and I'm not sure I'll return. 😔

Rooms
5.0
I was assigned a room at the end of a long hallway despite requesting one close to the elevator. Upon entering, I found the room dated and the mattresses uncomfortable. Additionally, the air conditioning was ineffective, resulting in a hot stay.
Service
5.0
At check-in, there was confusion regarding my reservation and the staff seemed unfriendly and accusatory. Even when I called for maintenance regarding the air conditioning and shower issues, the response time was slow and inadequate.
Location
6.0
The hotel is located near Intramuros and Rizal Park, allowing for some exploration of Manila's rich history. However, accessing nearby areas can be difficult due to heavy traffic.
Dining
6.0
I enjoyed the variety of food offered at breakfast, but many dishes were running low when I arrived, which was frustrating given the holiday crowd. The ambiance and live music were nice touches.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel has several amenities, but I found that the gym was under redevelopment, limiting my options for fitness. Room service was also lacking in responsiveness.

I enjoyed my overall stay at The Manila Hotel, which beautifully blends history with modern service. While I loved the spaciousness of my room and the friendly staff, I did encounter a few quirks like outdated furniture and some issues with cleanliness. However, the vibrant breakfast offerings and stunning views made it a worthwhile experience.

Rooms
8.0
My room was spacious and well-furnished, but a bit outdated with a musty smell from the older wood furnishings. The bed was incredibly comfortable, though, and the large bathroom was a nice surprise.
Service
9.0
The staff were consistently friendly and courteous, always ready with a greeting and eager to assist. I appreciated the extra mile taken by the Duty Manager when I needed direction for my events.
Location

The hotel is located in the heart of Manila, near museums and Rizal Park, which made it quite convenient for exploring. The views of the bay were truly lovely!
Dining

The breakfast buffet at Cafe Ilang Ilang offered an impressive variety ranging from Filipino to continental dishes. I especially loved the grilled salmon and the pastries.
Facilities

The available facilities were quite extensive, including a lovely pool and complimentary services that enhanced my stay, but the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty at times.

My stay at The Manila Hotel was an intriguing experience. The blend of historical architecture and modern renovations created a beautiful atmosphere. The location near Intramuros is convenient, though I faced some service challenges during my check-in. Overall, the hotel offers a lovely ambiance alongside its dining and entertainment options.

Rooms
8.0
My room was spacious and exceptionally clean, with a lovely view over Manila Bay. However, I found the mattress a bit firm for my liking, which made sleeping a challenge.
Service

While many staff were friendly and professional, the check-in process was frustrating and could use improvement. Upon my arrival, the reception staff seemed a bit distant.
Location
7.0
The hotel is situated close to Intramuros and Rizal Park, making it great for exploring the area. However, the nearby amenities could be further enhanced.
Dining

The breakfast buffet was vast and offered a variety of options, although I found it a bit chaotic at times, with long wait times for seating. The food quality was excellent, especially the local dishes.
Facilities

The hotel has great facilities, including 24-hour room service. However, the pool area could benefit from better maintenance, particularly concerning the drainage issues.

Staying at The Manila Hotel was a fascinating blend of old-world charm and modern amenities. The hotel boasts a beautiful lobby with live music each night, and the spacious room had a lovely water view. However, the check-out process was a bit cumbersome, and my special request for a high-floor room wasn't honored, which dampened the experience a bit.

Rooms
8.0
My room was spacious, with excellent bathroom facilities including a good-size bathtub and a walk-in shower. The amenities were sufficient, though the heavy drapes could have been improved for better light control during the day.
Service
6.0
While the bell office staff were friendly, I found the reception staff a bit unhelpful and even rude regarding my special room request. Additionally, I noticed that the service in the dining areas could use more training, as my dining experience was less than satisfactory.
Location
7.0
The hotel is beautifully situated close to the museums and Intramuros, making it convenient for exploring Manila's rich historical sites. However, I did find getting taxis a bit challenging, which added some frustration when trying to venture beyond the hotel.
Dining
6.0
The breakfast buffet offered a variety of international options, but some items were lukewarm, and I felt the selection of fresh fruits and pastries was lacking. The atmosphere in the dining areas was lovely, but unfortunately, my experience was marred by slow service.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel had all the essential facilities, including a good-size pool and a convenient shuttle service to nearby attractions. However, I found it inconvenient that food service after 9:30 pm was limited to room service only.
